The Ultimate Guide to Character Dining at Walt Disney World


Walt Disney World offers several character dining experiences where guests can enjoy a meal while meeting and taking photos with beloved Disney characters. These special dining experiences can be found throughout all four of the Disney World theme parks as well as within certain resort hotels.

Although pricey, character dining is a convenient and fun way to interact with the Disney characters without waiting in long lines. Select character dining venues also offer very special experiences, such as Cinderella’s Royal Table, which allows guests to dine within the Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom.

As with all other dining experiences at Walt Disney World, reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance starting at approximately 6:00 AM.  Guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel can make reservations for length of their stay (up to 10 nights) up to 60 days in advance or arrival.  This allows hotel guests a few days advance time verus those on staying at a Disney Resort Hotel.

Dining reservations can be made on-line at the Walt Disney World website or through the MyDisneyExperience app.

Cinderella’s Royal Table

One of the most magical character dining experiences at Walt Disney World is Cinderella’s Royal Table.  Located within Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom, this dining experience is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner typically starting at 8:00 AM until park close.

The experience begins with a grand entrance into the castle’s lobby, where guests can take photos with Cinderella herself. Then, they are escorted up a spiral staircase to the restaurant, which is decorated like a medieval banquet hall with suits of armor, stained glass windows, and regal banners.

Guests will meet Cinderella and a host of other Disney Princesses while enjoying classic American and French-inspired dishes, such as beef tenderloin, roasted chicken, and seafood. The restaurant also offers a special kids’ menu with options like mac and cheese and grilled chicken.

Chef Mickey’s

Chef Mickey’s Family Feast is located at Chef Mickey’s restaurant within Disney’s Contemporary HotelGuests will enjoy a classic American all-you-can-eat breakfast or dinner buffet while seeing Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and a number of other characters throughout the meal. The characters visit each table during the meal, posing for photos and signing autographs.

In addition to the delicious food and character interactions, guests will enjoy stunning views of the Magic Kingdom park and the iconic monorail that runs through the Contemporary Resort. It’s a great way to start or end a day at the parks, and is sure to be a memorable experience for guests of all ages.

Garden Grill Restaurant

Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Harvest Feast at the Garden Grill is located on the main floor of the Land Pavilion in EPCOT.  Guests will enjoy all-you-can-eat classic American fare on a rotating platform of the Living with the Land attraction. The menu features a variety of American dishes, such as turkey, beef, and salmon, all served family-style. There are also vegetarian and gluten-free options available upon request.

One of the highlights of the experience is the chance to meet and interact with some of Disney’s most beloved characters, including Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. The characters visit each table during the meal, posing for photos and signing autographs.

The Crystal Palace

One of the more popular dining experiences is the Friendship Day Celebration in The Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom. This restaurant offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a buffet-style meal while interacting with some of their favorite Disney characters.

The restaurant is designed to look like a Victorian greenhouse, with a bright and airy atmosphere and stunning views of the park. The menu features a variety of American dishes, such as carved meats, salads, pasta, and desserts. There are also special dishes for breakfast, such as Mickey waffles, omelets, and bacon.

‘Ohana

The Best Friend’s Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch is located at ‘Ohana in Disney’s Polynesian Village ResortThis restaurant offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a Hawaiian-inspired meal while taking in stunning views of the resort’s lush gardens and the Seven Seas Lagoon.

The restaurant is designed to look like a tropical paradise, with tiki torches, thatched roofs, and Polynesian-themed decor. The menu features a variety of Pacific Island-inspired dishes, such as grilled meats, seafood, noodles, and vegetables. The restaurant also offers a special ‘Ohana breakfast with Mickey and friends, featuring dishes such as scrambled eggs, Hawaiian pork sausages, and pineapple-coconut breakfast bread.

1900 Park Fare

Located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, 1900 Park Fare offers the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast and Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner.  During breakfast, the characters include Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh. Cinderella and Prince Charming are part of the dinner experience.

The restaurant is designed to look like a Victorian-era ballroom, with elegant chandeliers, high ceilings, and ornate decor. The menu features a variety of American dishes, such as carved meats, salads, pasta, and desserts. There are also special dishes for breakfast, such as Mickey waffles, omelets, and bacon.

  • Breakfast: $45.00 per adult and $29.00 per child (ages 3 to 9) plus tax and gratuity.
  • Dinner: $60.00 per adult and $39.00 per child (ages 3 to 9) plus tax and gratuity.

As of August 2023, 1900 Park Fare remains temporarily closed.

Cape May Cafe

Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at the Cape May Cafe in Disney’s Beach Club Resort is the perfect way to start your day at Walt Disney World.  Guests will enjoy a classic American all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet while seeing Minnie Mouse and a number of other characters throughout the meal.

The restaurant is designed to look like a New England-style seafood house, with nautical-themed decor and a bright and airy atmosphere. A dinner buffet is also offered from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM but does not feature characters.

  • Breakfast: $45.00 per adult and $29.00 per child (ages 3 to 9) plus tax and gratuity.

Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White

Open exclusively for dinner at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. This restaurant offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a fairy tale-inspired meal while interacting with some of their favorite Disney characters.

The restaurant is designed to look like a forest glen, with rustic decor and a cozy atmosphere. The menu features a variety of American dishes with a twist, such as mushroom bisque, prime rib, and seafood. There are also special dishes for kids, such as chicken tenders and mac and cheese.

Characters include Snow White, Grumpy and Dopey as well at have a chance to meet The Queen.  The characters visit each table during the meal, posing for photos and signing autographs.

  • Dinner: $65.00 per adult and $39.00 per child (ages 3 to 9) plus tax and gratuity.

Topolinos Terrace

Breakfast a la Art with Mickey & Friends is located on the top floor of Disney’s Riviera Resort at Topolinos Terrace. Guests will visit with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other classic Disney characters will enjoying a traditional American style breakfast meal. 

The restaurant is designed to look like a chic rooftop terrace, with modern decor and a sophisticated atmosphere. The menu features a variety of European dishes, such as pasta, seafood, and steak. There are also special dishes for breakfast, such as quiche, sour cream waffles, and wood-fired butcher’s steak.

  • Breakfast: $45.00 per adult and $29.00 per child (ages 3 to 9) plus tax and gratuity.

Dinner service is also offered from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM but does not feature characters.

Tusker House Restaurant

The only character dining experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is at the Tusker House Restaurant. This restaurant offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a variety of African-inspired dishes while taking in stunning views of the park.

The restaurant is designed to look like an African marketplace, with colorful decor and a lively atmosphere. The menu features a variety of African dishes, such as peri-peri chicken, beef curry, and vegetable samosas. There are also non-African options available, such as carved meats, salads, and desserts.

Guests will enjoy visiting with Donald Duck and other Disney characters.

The only character dining experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is at Hollywood & Vine. This restaurant offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a variety of American-inspired dishes while taking in amazing views of the park.

The restaurant is designed to look like a classic Hollywood eatery, with art deco decor and a lively atmosphere. The menu features a variety of American dishes, such as carved meats, salads, pasta, and desserts. There are also special dishes for breakfast, such as Mickey waffles, omelets, and bacon.

Guests will enjoy the Disney Junior Play n’ Dine for breakfast or Minnie’s Seasonal Dining for lunch and dinner.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

One of the more popular dining experiences for aspiring young princesses is Storybook Dining at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall which is located in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT

The restaurant is designed to look like a medieval castle, with stone walls, arched windows, and a grand hall. The menu features a variety of Norwegian dishes, such as seafood, meats, and cheeses. There are also special dishes for breakfast, such as traditional Norwegian breakfast items like smoked salmon, herring, and cheese.

Guest will be greeted by a number of Disney Princesses including Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Aurora, and Ariel.
