About the Marriott Hutchinson Island 

The Marriott Hutchinson Island Beach Resort, Golf & Marina enjoys a spectacular location along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in Stuart, Florida.  This 200-acre property was originally built in 1987 and includes 274-rooms in both a beachfront tower as well as a main hotel near the Intracostal Waterway.

Amenities include an 18-hole golf course, three outdoors pools, a tennis / pickleball center, beachfront activities and over 30,000 square foot of meeting and event space.

It will take travelers about an hour to get to the hotel from the Palm Beach International Airport and around two hours to get to the Orlando International Airport. There are several restaurants and retail venues within a very short distance to the hotel which include Benihana, Strings Tavern & Oyster Bar, Renato’s Italian Ristorante and Yaowarat Asian Kitchen.  

Visitors to resort find themselves near a wealth of historical and cultural sites. Two of the most significant attractions are the Elliott Museum and The House of Refuge Museum, each offering a unique glimpse into the region’s past and preserved heritage.

The resort is located directly on a white sandy beach where there is a walkway from the Sandpiper Tower directly to the beach.  Beach chairs and umbrellas as well as towels are provided by the hotel.

Baha Grille provides a casual dining environment where guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet.  At the time of our most recent stay in April 2024, the Baha Grille was under renovation.  Breakfast was served in an ancillary room on the ground floor of the convention building.

Sandpiper Tiki Bar

  • Lunch & Dinner: Specialty sandwiches, salads

Sandpiper Tiki Bar, located in Stuart and a favorite for lunch and dinner, is a relaxed spot where guests can savor delicious sandwiches and fresh salads. The bar is ideal for a refreshing cocktail while relishing the ocean’s breeze.

Latitudes Tiki Bar

Latitudes Tiki Bar is known for its proximity to the House of Refuge, offering guests the convenience of enjoying a meal just steps away from this historic site. Culinary delights are served here, with an emphasis on lunch and dinner choices.

The Marriott Hutchinson Island Beach Resort provides guests an array of dining experiences by the ocean, from the first bite of breakfast to the last sip of a sunset cocktail.

What We Liked about Marriott Hutchinson Island Resort:

There are many different things to like at this hotel.  Following are some of the highlights:

  • Fairly affordable beachfront resort property 
  • Fully renovated rooms
  • Quality amenities including golfing and a fitness center

What We Didn’t Like about the Marriott Hutchinson Island Resort:

There were a few things not to like when staying at the this hotel which include:

  • High resort fee of $29.00 per night
  • Limited amount of chairs on both the Sandpiper pool and the beach
  • No upscale dining venue for a nice dinner.  

What We Think the Marriott Hutchinson Island Resort is Perfect For:

The Marriott Hutchinson Island Resort is great for a wide variety of travelers visiting South Florida and perfect for:
