Kid Friendly Attractions at the Universal Orlando Theme Parks

Unlike its neighbors to the south (Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Orlando), the theme parks at the Universal Orlando Resort are better known for their “thrill” rides and attractions as well as its less family-friendly events like Halloween Horror Nights.  So if you have children ages 12 and under, should you not consider Universal Orlando for your family vacation destination?

The answer is that you should definitely consider Universal as your families vacation destination.  There is so much to do for younger children and families that it just might take a few days to accomplish it all.

One of the best thing about the Universal Orlando Resort is that its two parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, are located right next to one another.  You can “park hop” without having to get in your car or wait for another type of transportation – it’s a quick walk from one front entrance to the other.  Therefore, all the “kid” rides and things to do are within one place.

Reasons why you should consider Universal Orlando for your next family vacation:

  • Numerous kid friendly rides and attractions

  • Several themed play areas

  • Parades and Shows

  • Amazing interactive experiences

  • Character meet and greets

  • Fireworks and nighttime spectaculars

There are individual kid centered areas at Universal, one of which is featured in each of the two parks. Universal Studios Orlando features Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone while there is Seuss Landing in Islands of Adventure (which is themed after the stories of Dr. Seuss)

Following is a summary of all the great family-friendly rides, attractions, shows, experiences and spectaculars you can expect from your visit to Universal.  You will find that there is more than enough to do for families with young children.
