A great way to save time during your next visit to the Universal Orlando theme parks is to use the Single Rider Lines which are offered on several of the resorts most popular rides. While single rider lines are not a “secret” at Universal, they are not fully taken advantage of by but most park visitors.
A single rider line is a separate queue (from the stand by or Universal Express queues) where those visitors who wish to ride alone will be able to bypass the regular line and in most cases, get on the attraction quicker. Team members use the individual riders to fill vacant seats in a ride vehicle as not all traveling parties match the number of seats available on a ride vehicle.
While every single person in your group can use the single rider line, it’s highly likely that those in your traveling party will be broken up and put onto different ride vehicles. It should also be noted that guests using the single rider queue will not get the complete experience of the traditional ride queue, which can be extensive at some of Universal’s most popular attractions.
While it is often said that single rider lines are not as fast as Universal Express, we find it a completely FREE alternative to waiting in the traditional stand by queue and at times, can be quicker than the express lines.
Single Rider Lines at the Universal Orlando Resort
As of January 2024, single rider lines are featured at six attractions in Universal Studios Florida and nine attractions at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Single Rider Lines at Universal Studios Florida
Hollywood Rid Ride Rockit
With it’s shear height rising above the Universal Orlando Resort, Hollywood Ride Ride Rockit is an attraction that just can’t be missed.
The single rider entrance is located right between the stand by queue entrance as well as the entrance for Universal Express passholders.
Revenge of the Mummy
Revenge of the Mummy is located in the streets of New York and is one of the most fun roller coaster rides at Universal as it’s provides great thrills while not being too intense.
The single rider entrance is also located in the middle of the stand by entrance as well as the entrance for Universal Express passholders.
Transformers: The Ride 3D
Transformers: The Ride 3D is a motion simulator ride that will put “recruits” in the midst of a battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
The single rider line entrance is located in between the Universal Express and Stand By queue.
Men in Black Alien Attack
Men in Black Alien Attack is one of the best shooting rides in any of the Orlando area theme parks. Riders shoot the aliens to score points, becoming a “Galaxy Defender”.
The single rider line entrance is on the right side to the main queue entrance.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
The premier ride at Universal Studios Florida is Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. This attraction is a hybrid roller coaster and 3D based animation ride. It’s not to be missed when visiting Universal.
The single rider line is just to the right of the Universal Express entrance and the Stand By queue.
Fast and Furious: Supercharged
Dom, Hobbs and the rest of the gang are back for a wild ride in Fast and Furious: Supercharged. This screen-based attraction is fully of energy so hold on for a crazy ride.
The single rider line entrance is on the left side to the main queue entrance.
Single Rider Lines at Universal’s Islands of Adventure
The Incredible Hulk Roller Coaster
Visitors to Universal’s Islands of Adventure just can’t miss the “roar” of the Incredible Hulk Roller Coaster. This is one of the most intense rides at Universal and one that shouldn’t be missed.
The single rider entrance is located to the immediate left of the stand by queue entrance.
Dr. Doom’s Fearfall
Another must do attraction at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is the two tower Dr. Doom’s Fearfall which takes riders high above Marvel Super Hero Island.
The single rider line at is not always available and the entrance is through the arcade.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
Also located in Marvel Super Hero Island is The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. This 3D motion simulator takes riders along on a battle with the Sinister Syndicate.
The single rider line entrance is adjacent to the main entrance and the Universal Express queue.
Dudley’s Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls
Located in Toon Lagoon, Dudley’s Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls and it’s 75-foot drop is one of three amazing water rides at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
The single rider line entrance is just adjacent to the main queue and Universal Express entrances.
Skull Island: Reign of Kong
In Skull Island: Reign of Kong, riders go on an expedition through the heart of the jungle where you in the middle of a fight between Kong and other island creatures.

Jurassic Park River Adventure
Another of the water rides at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is the Jurassic Park River Adventure. Guests take a leisurely boat ride through Jurassic Park before making a wrong turn to the Raptor Containment Area where things go a bit crazy.
The single rider line is just adjacent to the main queue entrance.
Jurassic World VelociCoaster
The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is newest and most exciting ride at the Universal Orlando Resort. The rides travels up to 70 miles per hour and there are two high speed launches, 12 moments of airtime and a 155-foot tall “Top Hat”.

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
Riders join Hagrid on his motorbike and ride through the Forbidden Forest in Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Guests will see a number of magic creatures and experience a number of surprises during your wide ride with Hagrid.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
The premier “Wizarding World” attraction at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Guests head inside Hogwarts Castle and take a ride on a broom with Harry and his friends.
