Dining Among the Stars: A Complete Guide to Space 220 Restaurant at EPCOT

Space 220 restaurant is a highly unique experience within EPCOT at The Walt Disney World Resort.  The restaurant is located adjacent to the Mission: SPACE attraction and offers guests a unique dining experience that simulates a trip to space.  The inside of the restaurant is designed to look like a space station, complete with a viewing area that provides a stunning view of Earth.

The Disney Signature Dining restaurant offers a variety of upscale, contemporary dishes where guests choose from a two-course price fixed menu for lunch or a three-course price fixed menu for dinner. The menu includes a variety of entrees such as steaks, roasted chicken and seafood.  There is also specialty cocktails along with an extensive wine list to pair with any meal.

What makes Space 220 special is the immersive dining experience which is what sets it apart from other restaurants. The experience beings as guests are taken on a “space elevator” that is a simulated journey to the Centauri Space Station.

The elevator ride takes just a few minutes and provides a stunning view of Earth from space.  Once guests arrive at the restaurant, they are greeted with a view of Earth from 220 miles above.

Originally opened in September 2021 as part of the reimagination of EPCOT, the dining experience at Space 220 is a definitely memorable one. From the moment guests step into the restaurant, they are transported to a space station orbiting Earth. The restaurant’s futuristic design and immersive atmosphere create an “out-of-this-world” dining experience.

The theming of Space 220 is what makes the experience impressive. Guests enter the restaurant through a space elevator, which simulates the 220 mile journey from EPCOT to the Centauri Space Station.

Hours of operating are typically 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM for lunch and from 4:00 PM to 8:40 PM for dinner service.

Guests arrive in space and immediately notice that the restaurant is designed to resemble a space station that features with sleek, modern furnishings and futuristic décor.  There is even a spinning garden showing where the space stations food is grown.

Once inside the dining area and lounge, guests are surrounded by panoramic views of Earth as well as the entire galaxy.  Disney’s Imagineers added large windows (high-resolution video screens) that provide stunning views of the planet and the stars. Our Thoughts

We’ve had the pleasure of dining at Space 220 in both the lounge as well as in the dining area and both times were an excellent experience.

Our most recent meal in July 2023 was for dinner in the lounge which included the Centauri Caesar Salad as the starter, the Filet Mignon as the entrée and the Chocolate Cheesecake for dessert.  With a beverage and tax, the total the cost was $89.19.

All three courses were excellent and what you would expect at any premium level restaurant at Walt Disney World.  Service was also top notch and the service team was on top of our meal every step of the way.

In addition, we feel that prices are consistent with similar quality off-site restaurants throughout the greater Orlando area so if you can get a reservation (or are lucky enough for a walk-up), Space 220 is a great place to dine at EPCOT.

Pricing and Reservations

The price for lunch at Space 220 is $55 per adult for two courses, while dinner is $79 per adult for three courses. The price fixed menu includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert (dinner only).  Additionally, a kids menu is offered for $29.00 per child and includes a Star Course, Super Nova Sweets and a Celestial drink.

Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance and are highly recommended due to the restaurant’s popularity. Guests can make reservations online through the Walt Disney World Resort website or on the MyDisney Experience app.

While a walk-up option is offered, it is highly unlikely that there will be availability.  The Space 220 Lounge is also an alternative for small parties but it is also difficult to secure an opening.
