Reunion® Resort Orlando – The Best Vacation Community near Walt Disney World


The Reunion® Resort is a world-class vacation home community located in Kissimmee, Florida, just south of the Walt Disney World Resort.  Originally opened in 2002 and developed by The Ginn Companies, this massive 2,300- acre resort development currently features 21 individual neighborhood communities that included thousands of individual homes and villas.

Reunion® is a self-contained resort community and features some of the best amenities of any resort throughout Florida.  There are ten community swimming pools, a five-acre waterpark, miniature golf, a tennis & pickleball center, numerous children’s playgrounds, shuttle service to Walt Disney World and three championship golf courses.  In addition to the amenities, the resort features six on-site food and beverage options ranging from causal to fine dining.

Accommodations are extensive and there something for every size traveling party.  Guests can select from a variety of one-, two- and three-bedroom resort villas as well as single-family estate homes featuring private pools, games rooms and home theaters.

About The Area

Reunion® is located along both side of Interstate 4 approximately seven miles south of the Walt Disney World Resort.  The main entrance to the community is off the Osceola Polk Line Road (Exit 58 from Interstate 4) which is the same exit for Championsgate.  There is a secondary entrance off Sinclair Road which is accessible by State Road 429 (Western Beltway).

There are multiple routes to access the Walt Disney World Resort but we find the most direct route taking Interstate 4 to World Drive.  While there typically is a fair amount traffic along I-4, World Drive is Disney’s central thoroughfare providing easy access to it’s four theme parks, two water parks, resort hotels and Disney Springs.  Guests can also use State Road 429 to Western Way and Old Lake Wilson to US Highway 192.

Over the past few years the area surrounding Reunion® has grown and developed, added a number of retail shopping venues, restaurants and amenities.  Directly across Osceola Polk Line Road is a Publix Supermarket along a number of restaurants heading west towards Championsgate. 

Accommodations

The amount and diversity of the accommodations at the Reunion® Resort are extensive ranging from one-bedroom villas to large estate homes that have up to 15 individual bedrooms.  Guests can book directly through Reunion®, through a rental management company or directly through the owner.

Resort Villas

There are more than 200 resort villas in six different communities at Reunion®.  These villas range from one to three bedrooms in size and include full kitchens, spacious living areas, flat-screen televisions and private balconies.  Select units have multiple bathrooms and washer & dryer units.

Nightly rates for Reunion® vacation homes vary based on the time of the year and property type but range from less than $300 per night to more than $1,000 per night.

Reunion® has some of the best amenities of any vacation community in the greater Orlando area.  The most popular amenity is the resorts 5-acre water park which includes a water slide, 1,000 foot lazy river, private cabanas, a water playground, organized activities and a poolside bar and grill.

7593 Chophouse

Seafood and steaks highlight the menu at 7593 Chophouse.  Located within The Grande, this restaurant is open on Wednesday & Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday & Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Lobby Sushi Bar

Enjoy cocktails as well as sushi and sashimi at the Lobby Sushi Bar.  Located in the lobby of The Grande, this restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  On Monday’s the bar is only open for cocktails and on Tuesday’s only cocktails and sushi are offered.

Eleven

Dine in the clouds in this rooftop restaurant.  Located on the top floor of The Grande, this tapas style restaurant is open on Wednesday to Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The Cove Bar & Grille

Enjoy lunch and cocktails poolside at The Cove Bar & Grille.  Located at the Cove at Seven Eagles, this restaurant is open on Sunday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM and on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM (the bar is open until 9:00 PM during special events.

Traditions

Located in the Nicklaus Clubhouse, Traditions is a resort casual dining experience that is a perfect follow up to a round of 18-holes.  Typically open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM but hours can vary based on seasonality.

Clubhouse

Enjoy a hearty breakfast or grab a burger after a round of golf at the Clubhouse.  Located within the golf clubhouse adjacent to The Grande, this restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  There is also an express menu for grab-and-go service.

Championship Golf Courses

Reunion® is a golfers paradise and is the only resort with three signature courses by golf legends Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson.  The resort was ranked by Golfweek as one of the “Best Courses You Can Play in Each State” (2017) and “Florida’s Best Golf Hotel” in 2018 by the World Golf Awards.

Arnold Palmer Course

Originally opened in 2004, the Arnold Palmer course is a 6,916 yard, par-72 course that features hilly, rolling terrain with elevation changes of up to 50 feet. The course has a rating of 73.4 and a slope of 137.

Jack Nicklaus Course

The Jack Nicklaus course is a 7,219 yard, par-72 course that features 18 challenging holes of elevated tees and greens. Originally opened in 2007, this course has a rating of 74.8 and a slope of 140.

Tom Watson Course

The Tom Watson course is a 7,154 yard, par-72 course that features rolling greens and wide open fairways.  Opened in 2004, this course has a rating of 74.9 and a slope of 141.

In addition to the three championship courses, Reunion features the Golfzon Leadbetter Golf Academy Orlando.  The academy features state-of-the-art video rooms, indoor & outdoor bays and a golf performance studio.  There is also a custom club fitting & repair show and a Odyssey putting studio.

Conferences and Events

Reunion® features 25,000 square feet of flexible meeting space with room for up to 800 guests in the Reunion Grande Ballroom (8,160 square feet).  Additional event venues include the Grande Falls Patio (5,000 square feet) that can hold up to 350 guests, the Heritage Ballroom (4,056 square feet) which can hold up to 460 guests and the rooftop restaurant Eleven (6,400 square feet) that can hold up to 130 guests.

There are outdoor venues as well as smaller conference rooms and breakout rooms available.

Purchase a Home at Reunion®

Now could be the perfect time to purchase a vacation home in Florida and Reunion® might be the right place to do so.  There are a wide variety of options ranging from new condominium units and single-family vacation homes to existing resort villas and estate homes.

Resort villas start from the $200,000’s with units in The Grande in the $500,000 range.  Estate homes start from less than $1 million and can exceed $5 million.

Owners can use and/or rent their homes to earn income.  There are a number of preferred management companies in Reunion® or owners can rent their homes on their own (restrictions apply).
