Pet Friendly On-Site Hotels at Universal Orlando


Are you planning a trip to Universal Orlando and looking for a pet-friendly hotel to accommodate your furry friend? As of August 2023, guests will find that there area total of four pet-friendly on-site resort hotels at The Universal Orlando Resort

All four of these resort hotels at Universal are managed by Lowes Hotels and are part of the “Lowes Loves Pets” program.  This programs allows up to two pets per room and includes both dogs and cats with up to date vaccinations. Each individual property has their own policies including pet relief areas and cleaning fees.

At check-in your pet will receive special treats, bowls and a place mat as well as a “Pet-in-Room” sign to put on the door handle.  The hotel can also provide litter boxes, bedding and a host of other items for your stay including room service for pets.

The Hard Rock Hotel

The Hard Rock Hotel is one of the most fun and exciting resort hotels at the Universal Orlando ResortOriginally opened in 1999, the 650-room hotel features a Spanish mission design to compliment a insane amount of rock décor and memorabilia.  When checking in to the Hard Rock, guests will find huge art portraits of John Lennon, Taylor Swift and Jim Morrison. 

The Hard Rock Hotel is a Universal top tier “Premier Hotels & Resorts” which means that it is among Universal’s highest for amenities, dining venues and service.  It also includes complimentary Universal Express Unlimited for up to five guests.

Pets are limited to 50 pounds and a health certificate by a veterinarian (within 10 days of arrival) is needed for check-in.  The Hard Rock charges a one time $100.00 cleaning fee and guests with pets are limited to the non-smoking Garden View Rooms.

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

The Loews Portofino Bay Hotel is one of the best, if not the best, on-site hotels at the Universal Orlando ResortOriginally opened in 1999, this 750-room hotel features a unique Italian design / theming transporting guests to the Portofino harbor on the Italian Riviera.

Portofino is among our favorite Universal on-site hotels as it has an amazing  style and theming. Rooms along Portofino Bay’s Harbor Piazza have some of the best views at Universal. In addition, the hotel is a “Premier Hotels & Resorts” which means it has among the highest level of amenities, dining venues and service of on-site hotels.  It also includes complimentary Universal Express Unlimited for up to five guests.

Pets are limited to 50 pounds and a health certificate by a veterinarian (within 10 days of arrival) is needed for check-in.  The Hard Rock charges a one time $100.00 cleaning fee and guests with pets are limited to select rooms.

The Lowes Royal Pacific Resort

The Loews Royal Pacific Resort is another of our favorite on-site hotels at the  Universal Orlando Resort. Originally opened in 1999, the 1,000-room Royal Pacific Resort has a unique South Seas theme with a true island feel right down to the design and décor.

What’s unique about this property is that guests can hear the roar of the Incredible Hulk roller coaster as well as the sound of Dr. Doom’s Fearfall since Universal’s Islands of Adventure is just on the other side of Hollywood Way. The hotel is a “Premier Hotels & Resorts” which means it has among the highest level of amenities, dining venues and service of on-site hotels.  It also includes complimentary Universal Express Unlimited for up to five guests.

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort

The Loews Sapphire Falls Resort is great on-site hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort.  Originally opened in July 2016, the 1,000-room Sapphire Falls has a very unique style and design as it features a casual, but elegant island theme and includes a water taxi stop right outside the rear door.

This full service, mid-tier “Preferred Hotels & Resorts” resort is fast becoming one of our favorite Universal on-site hotels as it offers a great value for a fair price.  Along with some of the best views at Universal, Sapphire Falls features an exceptional pool area and has nice dining options right on site. Unfortunately the hotel does not feature complimentary Universal Express passes as a benefit.

Pets are limited to 50 pounds and a health certificate by a veterinarian (within 10 days of arrival) is needed for check-in.  The Loews Sapphire Falls charges a one time $100.00 cleaning fee and guests with pets are limited to select rooms.
