Our Review of Villa de Flora

During one of our recently visits to the Gaylord Palms Resort for Christmas at the Gaylord Palms in December 2021, we had the opportunity to eat dinner at Villa de Flora.  While the hotel was full booked at the time of our stay, there was still walk-up availability at 6:30 PM (Friday evening).

We were quickly seated and our table was in the front of Villa de Flora, within the open area of the St. Augustine atrium which gave us a wonderful view of Castillo de San Marco and a partial view of the holiday shows that were taking place on the Emerald Bay stage during Christmas at the Gaylord Palms.

We enjoyed the Mediterranean buffet and were able to sample a number of different items including:

  • Carved beef and pork
  • Fresh salmon
  • Roasted chicken
  • Fresh made-to-order pasta
  • Salads and fresh cold meats

Our meal was excellent and we found that quality of the food that was offer was very good.  And since it is a buffet style restaurant, guests can sample a number of different foods depending on their particular tastes (which we took full advantage of during our visit).

Soft drinks are included with the cost of the meal so for two adults and one child, our total for the dinner was $102.13 which included tax.  Since our server was very good, we left a $20 tip on top of the cost of dinner.
