This eleven-story, 277-room property was originally constructed in 1990 and underwent a $20 million in 2019.  During our most recent stay in September 2021, the building and grounds were found to be in very good condition and well maintained.

Hotel features include a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, 24-hour fitness center with strength training and cardiovascular equipment, a newly designed lobby bar & restaurant, full-service business center, on-site marketplace, private “M Club” and 20,784 square feet of event & meeting space.

The hotel is close to a number of shopping, dining and entertainment venues including the Gardens Mall, Downtown at the Gardens, Legacy Place, PGA Commons and Midtown PGA.

Some of the closest public beaches to the hotel include the John D. MacArthur Beach State Park and the Juno Beach Pier.  The MacArthur Beach is the only state park in Palm Beach County and including 1.6 miles of beaches, nature trails for hiking, an estuary which is perfect for paddleboarding or kayaking and a number of pavilions. Cost to enter the park is $5.00 per vehicle.

In addition, one of our favorite local area beaches is at the Juno Beach Pier.  Parking is free at this beach and there is a small shop right on the pier that sells snacks and drinks.  Cost to access the Juno Beach Pier is $1.00 per spectator and $4.00 per fisherman.

Less than 20 minutes from the hotel is downtown downtown West Palm Beach which is home to Rosemary Square (shopping, dining & entertainment), the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, the Norton Museum of Art and the Clematis Street entertainment district.

The nearest major international airport is the Palm Beach International Airport.  It will take about 20 minutes to get to the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott from the airport and the hotel offers a free shuttle transportation service.

Amenities and Dining Options

The Palm Beach Gardens Marriott is a full-service hotel located in a suburban setting.  While this hotel may not have the level of amenities that many “resort” properties feature, what they offer is more than acceptable for a hotel at this price point.

The main amenity is a fair-sized heated outdoor pool with hot tub and large patio deck.  The patio deck has ample seating with several cabana-style lounges.  In addition to the pool, the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott features a state-of-the-art fitness center that includes resistance training equipment as well as cardiovascular equipment including two Peloton bides. 

An additional amenity which is reserved for certain Marriott Bonvoy is the M Club lounge.  The M Club is open 24/7 and features premium wifi as well as an array of drinks and snacks throughout the day.  In the mornings the lounge offers a hot buffet breakfast and during happy hour, guests will find a variety of hot and cold appetizers.

Dining options are limited to MacArthur’s Restaurant and Bar which is located in the hotel lobby.  This venue is open for both breakfast and dinner service; private dining is available upon request.

A full American breakfast buffet is offered for $24.95 per person as well as a continental breakfast which is offered for $15.00 per person.  Dinner service starts in the early evening hours.

There is also a marketplace next to the front desk which sells drinks and snacks.

The Rooms and Nightly Rates at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott

There are five different room types offered at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott which are as follows:

All rooms have flat panel televisions with cable television, free Wi-Fi, a work desk with chair, alarm clock, hair dryer, in room safe and an iron/ironing board.   Club rooms have access to the M Club lounge which is located on the first floor next to MacArthur’s.

Important Note: the Wi-Fi service was found to be adequate.   According to Speedtest.net, download speeds was 20.68 Mbps which is fair for most uses.  However, upload speeds of 20.74 Mbps is considered to be respectable.

We gave the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott a 4.0 out of a possible 5 stars during our visit.  Although this hotel is in our backyard and attended events in their conference center, we have never stayed overnight and came away very impressed.
