The Complete Guide to Golf at the Walt Disney World Resort (Orlando)


While The Walt Disney World Resort is know for it’s world renowned theme parks and resort hotels, they have not forgotten about those who enjoy a more sporting vacation and that includes the game of golf.  The best part of golf in central Florida is the weather as is perfect to play on a year round basis with some of the best times of year being during the cooler winter months.

When visiting Walt Disney World, the golfers don’t have to leave the resort.  Golf clubs can be rented right on sight or clubs can be shipped directly to Disney through a partnership with Ship Sticks.

There four amazing courses directly on-site at The Walt Disney World Resort which include Disney’s Palm Golf Corse, Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Course.   All of the courses at Disney World are operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management.

Disney’s Palm Golf Course

Redesigned in 2013 by the Arnold Palmer Design Company, Disney’s Palm Golf Course features a 18-holes of championship golf which includes nine holes with water hazards as well as 59 bunkers.  Green fees for 18 holes of golf at Disney’s Palm Golf Course during the summer season ranges from approximately $50 to around $85.

Yardage ranges from 5,213 (Red) to 6,870 (Blue) with a course rating ranging from 70.5 (Red) to 73.7 (Blue) and slope rating ranging from 126 (Red) to 131 (Blue).

Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course

Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course is one of the most challenging courses at Walt Disney World and is perfect for serious golfers.  Green fees for 18 holes of golf at this certified Audubon International Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary golf course during the summer season ranges from approximately $45 to around $85.

Yardage ranges from 5,127 (Red) to 7,516 (Black) with a course rating ranging from 69.6 (Red) to 76 (Black) and slope rating ranging from 126 (Red) to 141 (Black).

Golfers should be aware the the following was found on www.golfwdw.com:

“PLEASE NOTE!…During the dates of April 28, 2022 – May 8, 2022 only holes #1 – #9 will be available for play, and beginning on May 9, 2022 Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be closed indefinitely for a major renovation project. We recommend that you play at either Disney’s Palm or Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course during this timeframe as we prepare Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course for your future enjoyment! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of this golf course, and look forward to welcoming you back to the newly re-imagined Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course later this year.”

Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course

Originally conceived by golf architect Joe Lee, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Couse is an 18-hole course that is certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary.  This course hosted the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour and USGA events.  Green fees for 18 holes of golf at Disney’s Palm Golf Course during the summer season ranges from approximately $50 to around $85.

Yardage ranges from 5,177 (Red) to 6,745 (Blue) with a course rating ranging from 69.7 (Red) to 72.3 (Blue) and slope rating ranging from 119 (Red) to 133 (Blue).

Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is a par-36 nine-hole walking course that is certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary.  Holes range in length from 132 to 517 years and there are junior tees for younger golfers.  

Green fees range from approximately $25 to around $30 for this 9-hole course.  Golf carts are not allowed on Disney’s Oak Trail but pull carts can be rented as well as the “Robo-Caddie” experience. 

Golf Club Rental at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Golf offers modern rental equipment for both men and women from TaylorMade.  Clubs are available for both left and right handed golfers and are offered with regular and stiff flex shaft options.   Men’s clubs include SIM 2 woods & irons and women’s club include Kalea woods & irons.

Prices for golf club rentals at Walt Disney World (as of January 2022) are as follows:

  • $49.00 – 18 holes of golf for all guests with two sleeves of golf balls 
  • $29.00 – 18 holes of golf during twilight / super twilight hours and one sleeve of golf balls
  • $19.00 – 18 holes of golf for juniors age 17 and under
  • $29.00 – 9 holes of golf for all guests with one sleeve of golf balls
  • $11.00 – 9 holes of golf for juniors age 17 and under
  • $29.00 – Oak Trail (Sunrise 9 & Sunset 9) includes one sleeve of golf balls
  • $11.00 – Oak Trail (Sunrise 9 & Sunset 9) juniors age 17 and under
  • $10.00 – Partial sets for driving ranges with the purchase of range balls
  • $11.00 – Men’s & women’s Adidas brand golf shoe rental (no junior sizes are offered)

Can I ship my golf clubs to Walt Disney World?

Disney has teamed with Ship Sticks to allow its guests to ship golf clubs directly to Walt Disney World at reduced prices.  Ship Sticks will pick up the clubs directly from your home or office and deliver them to the course on the first scheduled date of play.  Prices start at $39.99 but increase for expedited service.  Insurance of $1,000 is included and Ship Sticks provides on-time guarantees.

Golf Instruction at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Golf offers high-quality golf instruction from a expert staff of PGA Professionals including Michael Schlager (PGA – Director of Instruction).  The various types of lessons include:

  • 45-minute lessons
  • Half and full-day golf schools
  • Video analysis
  • Group lessons
  • On course playing instruction

In addition to what is referenced above, Disney can customize corporate clinics and team building activities as well as instructional golf clinics for junior golfers ages 7 to 17.

Disney FootGolf

In addition to the golf shown above, Disney offers FootGolf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course.  FootGolf is a cross between soccer and golf and it suitable for players of all ages.  Players use a regulation sized #5 soccer ball which they kick on shortened length holes into a 21-inch cup

Nine holes of FootGolf are available after 2:30 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.  It takes about 90 minutes to play all nine holds and green fees for FootGolf range from $20 to $29 per player depending on the time of year.  

Membership at Walt Disney World Golf (The Player’s Club)

For frequent visitors to the Walt Disney Worlds Resort as well as those local to the Orlando area, a membership option is offered. The Player’s Club has three different levels of memberships with the specific costs and benefits as of January 2022 being outlined below:

Silver Membership

  • $429 annually or $39 per month with an annual contract
  • Standard Player’s Club access times (PM) with four day advance reservations for tee times
  • One large bucket of range balls per day

Gold Membership

  • $539 annually or $49 per month with an annual contract
  • Standard Player’s Club access times (PM) with four day advance reservations for tee times
  • Bonus Player’s Club access times (AM and early PM) offered sporadically with four day advance reservations for tee times
  • Discounted walk-up availability
  • Two large buckets of range balls per day
  • Two complimentary clinic guests passes per month
  • One guest round per month at the same rate
  • $5 discount on the Player’s Club events

Platinum Membership

  • $979 annually or $89 per month with an annual contract
