DreamWorks Land at Universal Orlando (Coming Summer 2024)


DreamWorks Animation, the powerhouse behind some of the most beloved animated movies of the past two decades, has found a new home at Universal Studios Florida with the grand opening of DreamWorks Land. Set to open in the summer 2024, this fantastical new addition to the theme park brings to life the vibrant worlds and characters from DreamWorks’ hit films like “Shrek,” “Kung Fu Panda,” and “Trolls,” offering an immersive experience for fans of all ages.

As you step into DreamWorks Land, you’re immediately transported into a realm where animation leaps off the screen and into the real world. The attention to detail is astounding, with every corner of the park meticulously crafted to replicate the iconic settings of DreamWorks’ cinematic universe. From the lush landscapes of Shrek’s Swamp to the bustling streets of Panda Village, the authenticity of the environments makes you feel as if you’ve jumped into your favorite movie.

Lands and Attractions

DreamWorks Land will feature several lands that include a number of rides and attractions that not only are perfect for kids, but also for those young at hear.

Trolls Village

Guests will be immersed in Trolls Village where Poppy has her own playground that is part of a giant mushroom for climbing.  The highlight of this village will be the family-friendly Trolls Trollercoaster.

Kung Fu Panda Village

Join Po in Kung Fu Panda Village which will feature a water playground known as Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp. This playground will include water cannons, dump buckets and other features where guests can cool off from the Florida heat.  There is even a carousel themed after Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop.

And for those looking for more action, they can join the Panda arm in Po Live!  This digitally based attraction is an interactive meet & greet where guests can talk to Po and learn the secrets of being a Dragon Warrior.

Shrek’s Swamp

Guests will enjoy a meet & greet with Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey just outside of his cottage.  In addition to the meet & greet, Shrek’s Swamp will feature a water play area with an interactive lily pad.

Also featured in Shrek’s Swamp is the Mama Luna Feline Fiesta from Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish. Guests will be able to virtually play with Mama Luna’s stray cats.

DreamWorks Character Zone

DreamWorks Character Zone will be the spot where guests will be able to get up close and personal with their favorite characters.

DreamWorks Imagination Celebration

Features state-of-the-art technology, guests can join in for a fun and exciting live show featuring the songs from their favorite DreamWorks films. 

Shopping and Dining

As you can imagine, there will be a number shopping and dining venues throughout DreamWorks Land.  Several of these include:

  • High Five Hideaway (shopping)
  • Trolls Treats
  • Swamp Snacks

Where Should We Stay When Visiting the Universal Orlando Resort?

The Universal Orlando Resort has a number of great on site hotels at Universal and each and every one of them have their own benefits, characteristics and price points.

There are multiple “categories” of hotels which are as follows:

  • Premier Hotels & Resorts
  • Preferred & Value Hotels and Resorts
  • Prime Value Hotels and Resorts

Premier category hotels include the Loews Portofino Hotel, the Hard Rock Hotel and the Loews Royal Pacific Resort.  Although higher in price, the added benefit of the free Universal Express Unlimited is well worth the expense.  Once you experience unlimited front of the line access, it is VERY difficult to go back to a theme park without it.
