With more than 1,200 golf courses (and growing) throughout the sunshine state, golfers within handicaps from a low of 3 or as high as 30 can find the perfect course that best suites their skill level. In this article we are going to list what we feel are the best golf resorts in the entire state of Florida. In determining our list we were looking for luxury accommodations with amazing amenities to accompany championship quality golf facilities. A number of these courses are PGA Tour stops and quite famous while others are little known gems that can be your next golf weekend getaway. In addition to the four championship golf courses, this 643-room Forbes four-star hotel features the Royal Palm Pool that has a 125 foot water slide & 18 private cabanas, a 48,000 square foot full-service spa, tennis center with Har-Tru courts, numerous dining venues and over 100,000 square feet of event space. The resort hosted the 1983 Ryder Cup, was home to the Senior PGA Championship from 1982 to 2000, and has been the host to The Honda Classic PGA golf tournament since 2007. As of the winter 2022, this 339-room resort is undergoing a massive $100 million renovation. To accompany six golf courses, amenities are extensive and include a resort pool, croquet facility and a 33,000 square foot sports and racquet club which includes a state-of-the-art fitness center, saltwater lap pool, 18 Har-Tru tennis courts and two pickle ball courts.
