Constructed with "Renaissance Revival" architecture and originally known as The Palm Beach Inn when opened in 1896, the hotel burned down in 1903 and again in 1925. The current building was originally constructed in 1925 by architectural firm Schultze and Weaver and features 538 rooms, a private beach, four resort style pools, a world class spa, championship golf and tennis facilities, 10 restaurants, 12 shopping boutiques and a private members club. The course features TifEagle Bermuda greens, 56 sand and grass faced bunkers as well as six lakes. Off site 10 miles west of the resort is The Breakers Rees Jones Course. This course was originally constructed in 1968 and rebuilt in 2004 by Rees Jones.
